I met Heather last July when we both attended a styled shoot in Orlando and realized we were both from Jacksonville. We are both also involved in our local Rising Tide group called Tuesday’s Together (a group for local small business owners). I also started assisting Heather on wedding days when she needed a second shooter! Our friendship grew and she’s been a constant encourager and someone I can always count on. Heather’s husband, Ryan, is in the Navy and they are in the process of moving to Japan, where he will be stationed. When I found out Heather would be moving, I was equally sad as I was excited for this adventure she and Ryan will be embarking on. We’ve made so many great memories together this past year that I’ll always cherish.
Heather and Ryan’s 5 year anniversary was this week and she wanted to do an anniversary session before they left for Japan. She was so excited and had been planning this session for about 4 months. She had taken time to choose the perfect outfits as well as a gorgeous bouquet. She also had her hair and makeup professionally done. Oh the perks of photographing a fellow photography friend! We decided Washington Oaks State Park would make the perfect backdrop for their photos. It’s one of my all time favorite locations with the beautiful gardens and rocky beach side. We started with their first, and more formal outfit, on the garden side, and then made our way to the beach where we experienced the most AMAZING sunset (so make sure you scroll ALL the way to the bottom!!). I’m known to take and post quite a few sunset photos, but I’ve never seen anything like the one we had that night! It doesn’t even look real, but I promise it is!
I’m honored and so happy that I was able to take these anniversary photos for Heather and Ryan. I’m definitely going to miss them but I cannot wait to hear all about Japan and see all the pictures Heather will take!
