You know those annoying afternoon thunderstorms we get here in Florida every single day during the summer? How about the ones where the sky literally turns black and the rain is blowing sideways and you feel like a hurricane is coming? I know it doesn’t look like it in the photos, but that is EXACTLY what was happening right when we got to the location. Sara and Matt were troopers and waited out the rain with me for a solid hour. The champagne they brought helped, but still, I was super grateful for their patience! Sara sent me some photos a couple weeks prior and asked if we could do their engagement photos at a friend’s parents’ house on the St. John’s River. And let me just tell you, it was stunning. So we ended up having a really cool place to watch the storm and wait for it to pass. I’ve honestly never seen a more beautiful home, and it was on the river…right up my alley! Living on the river for 15 years taught me that the most beautiful sunsets always come after the worst storms so that’s what I was betting on. And thankfully, that’s what happened!
Sara and Matt also brought their dog, Cooper, to be in some of the photos! I cannot wait to have these two in front of my camera again for their wedding next April!
I had to include our attempt of popping Champagne as fast as possible before the sky let loose again…I don’t think we shook it enough, clearly😂
