The Beaufort Inn, Tabby Garden, South Carolina, Leap Year Wedding | Carolyn + Matt

Carolyn and Matt were married at the Historic St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Beaufort, South Carolina followed by a reception at the Tabby Gardens at The Beaufort Inn. Carolyn and Matt were first introduced to the area when they had previously vacationed there and decided it was the perfect place for friends and family to gather and celebrate their special day. This lowcountry wedding was just perfect from start to finish!
The Beaufort Inn is located in the downtown area and just a short distance to the historic chapel. It’s historical yet modern and absolutely charming with cottages and gardens and courtyards throughout the property. It was like Carolyn and Matt’s private wedding village!
It was such a fun day going back and forth between cottages as the bride and groom and bridal party were getting ready for the ceremony. Everyone was just so happy and having fun! Matt and the groomsmen wore navy blue which looked great with the bridesmaids dark green dresses. Carolyn was just breathtaking in her simple but elegant wedding dress and veil. Her veil was her something borrowed and belonged to her sister. It was such a sweet moment just before the ceremony when her sister put the veil on for her as their dad watched from nearby.
Two words Carolyn used to describe how she envisioned her wedding day – full of color and fun! Well, with the help of Adair, with Dairing Events, her day was exactly that! Color was infused into every part of the day! I loved the vibrant invitation suite they chose and the bouquets were SO colorful and absolutely beautiful! The florals looked amazing with the deep green bridesmaid dresses! Everything from the invitations, to the flowers, reception decor, and even the hand painted cake, just tied together so beautifully!
The historic chapel was filled with natural light, wooden pews and a pretty altar. I loved how intimate the ceremony felt inside the church. After the couple exchanged vows and said “ I do” they left the church as guests showered them with flower petals.
Cocktail hour was located in one of the courtyards where there was a bar and passed appetizers. Next, guests moved to the Tabby Garden for the reception, which looked incredible! It was the perfect setting with string lights and a checkerboard dance floor. Guests enjoyed a family style dinner at gorgeous farm tables with custom cookies as their place cards. I thought the farm tables looked amazing and were the perfect touch! Another favorite detail was the seating chart- it was just so unique and creative with guests names and table numbers hand lettered on a variety of planters and terra cotta pots! After cake and toasts, everyone was ready to party and dance the night away and the band did not disappoint!
Carolyn was such a beautiful bride and she and Matt are a great couple! I’ve enjoyed getting to know them and truly loved being a part of this special day!!
