Maggie and Jackson’s original wedding date was planned for September of this year in St. Augustine, Florida. I had a call from Maggie one day, and she told me they had changed their plans and were getting married in 2 weeks, and wanted to see if I was available. You see, her dad had just been diagnosed with cancer, and needed to start his treatments promptly. Not knowing what his treatments would allow him to do in September, along with the uncertainty of this pandemic, Maggie wanted to get married and make sure her father was able to walk her down the aisle and be part of this special day! She was adamant that they wanted this to be a happy occasion and a celebration! Family, friends and vendors came together to make this wedding happen in two weeks! Yes, two weeks! And it was absolutely beautiful from start to finish.
Jackson wore a classic black tux and Maggie looked absolutely stunning. Her dress was classic and timeless and had the most amazing detachable train. (Her dress happened to come in a month early and she was able to pick it up in Asheville, NC!) I loved that the bridesmaids wore black; they looked amazing and their bouquets just popped against the black dresses.
One of my favorite parts of the day was during cocktail hour when it was time for dances. The rain held off and they were able to dance outside in a pretty courtyard garden area of the restaurant. Bride and groom and parent dances are always such sweet moments, but needless to say, I don’t think there was a dry eye anywhere. Some of my favorite pictures of the day are Maggie and her dad dancing and having so much fun together!
Another favorite moment of the day was during dinner when Maggie’s sisters and Jackson’s longtime friend toasted them. There were so many sweet, sentimental and funny sentiments shared. After dinner it was time to keep the celebration going! Everyone headed to the dance floor and danced the night away! It was such a fun time! After the party, Maggie and Jackson had the most amazing vintage Cadillac waiting to take them away!! Although it may have been different than they originally planned, it was clear this day was perfect for Maggie and Jackson! It was inspiring to see how they embraced the changes and loved everything about their wedding day and I was truly honored to share this day with them!
