Classic Southern Wedding at Litchfield Plantation in Pawley’s Island, South Carolina | Maggie + Robert

Maggie and Robert chose the beautiful Litchfield Plantation located in Pawley’s Island, South Carolina for their wedding. Their day was the epitome of classic, southern elegance. I originally met Maggie when she was working with a wedding planner I know from Charleston, and we felt like friends from day one. So needless to say, I was thrilled when she reached out and wanted me to photograph her own wedding!

Maggie and Robert had an outdoor ceremony followed by a tented reception complete with string lights and a band. Following the ceremony, during cocktail hour, guests enjoyed charcuterie boards and amazing views of the marsh. Then, after introductions and dances, dinner stations were opened and included quintessential southern food like shrimp and grits and a biscuit bar with all of the accompaniments. What’s a low country wedding without those staples, right?

Wedding days are filled with so many special moments and I always like to choose a few favorites! First, Maggie had several family heirlooms and sentimental items she included in the day: beautiful pearl earrings, a tray that belonged to her grandmother, and a vintage broach she pinned to her bouquet. Also, I absolutely LOVED Robert’s Brackish feather bow tie and the coordinating plum thicket pins worn by the groomsmen and Maggie’s dad! They are handcrafted in South Carolina and so unique and amazing! The bridesmaid dresses were a deep burgundy color; just perfect for a fall wedding. And how gorgeous are the fur stoles that complimented the dresses so beautifully!?

Maggie gifted Robert an authentic Stetson cowboy hat and it may or may not have made an appearance in some pictures! Be sure and scroll through and see who made an unexpected surprise appearance as a drummer with the band!! A few more of my favorites from the day! 🙂

We had been holding our breath all afternoon because we knew rain was coming, but thankfully it held off until just as the night ended!! Maggie changed into a stunning white jumpsuit and they said goodbye to family and friends then left as they were showered with rose petals. It was an amazing day and I’m so honored to have been a part of it!
